[10:14:49] <trash_> Mike123: you can enable rewrite logging on apache to check what is happening
 [10:15:14] <ss-helper> Silverstripe CMS style fault - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/41181875/silverstripe-cms-style-fault
[10:16:23] <trash_> also did you check that dynamiccache/cache-main.php is not redirecting you somewhere else (I'm not sure will the browser report endless loop in this case but you can check)

[15:32:25] <ss-helper> ihatewindows: Welcome to #silverstripe! Please ask your questions but don't leave too soon, we are a busy lot.
[15:35:05] <ihatewindows> Good day gentlemen. Can anyone shed some light on why a file upload field would throw back "SyntaxError: Unexpected token F in JSON at position 0"
[15:35:23] <ihatewindows> Dev Tools tells me is JQuery.
[15:35:36] <ihatewindows> I am using Windows Server and IIS.
 [15:41:21] <samsam> It’s because you’re on windows
[15:41:56] <ihatewindows> lol, I know. If I had an alternative in the office, I would take it.
[15:42:28] <samsam> kidding, what version of SS are you on?
 [15:43:01] <ihatewindows> 3.2.1
[15:44:36] <samsam> does the error show for any file type?
[15:45:40] <ihatewindows> No, strangely enough it's only on PDF files.
[15:45:47] <ihatewindows> Or at least, not for regular images.
[15:47:00] <samsam> ihatewindows: is it an uploadfield you coded yourself? If so, in which class?
[15:47:19] <ihatewindows> Now for this particular thing I am using the pdfthumbnailer extension. My code works on another Linux server. I have ensured that the ImageMagick plugin is installed on the Windows server, and working through command line. It works when I parse it with a php file. Just something strange is happening in Silverstripe.
[15:48:08] <samsam> I have a feeling this has to do with file permissions
 [15:48:11] <samsam> on server level
 [15:48:16] <samsam> on server level
[15:48:31] <ihatewindows> Do you think it's the folder itself?
[15:49:20] <ihatewindows> It's weird, the file passes through to the folder. So I guess it's permissions within the plugin maybe.
[15:50:53] <samsam> It’s really a hunch, but it could be that PHP isn’t allowed to upload .pdf
[15:51:45] <ihatewindows> That's the thing, the file DOES get uploaded. It's in the assets folder.
 [15:53:18] <samsam> Then it’s probably the mod I think..
 [15:53:33] <samsam> is it this one? https://github.com/DarrenInwood/silverstripe-pdf-thumbnailer
 [15:53:55] <ihatewindows> https://github.com/NobrainerWeb/silverstripe-pdf-thumbnailer
 [15:54:02] <ihatewindows> this one, it's updated for 3.1
[15:54:32] <ihatewindows> just changed dataojectdecorator to dataextension.
[15:54:36] <ihatewindows> but same code otherwise.
[15:56:45] <ihatewindows> I have to meet with the IT Admin to handle a few IIS issues, like installing a mod_rewrite plugin. So I will suggest we look at permissions for the folders as well.
[15:56:52] <samsam> No experience with it, maybe someone else here does, otherwise I’d say post it to the SS forum or stackoverflow
[15:57:31] <ihatewindows> Yeah. That is my next step. I've been wrestling with this for 2 days now. It is driving me crazy.
 [16:00:07] <ihatewindows> I appreciate your input samsam
 [16:02:13] <ihatewindows> https://forums.iis.net/t/1200557.aspx?IIS+and+PHP+and+GhostScript+permissions+issues
[16:02:26] <ihatewindows> This seems to me like something of relevance.

[22:32:14] <samsam> anyone experience in “overriding” a core class method through injector?
[22:33:27] <samsam> I’m trying to force SS to use my own method instead of PageTypes() method in CMSMain class
[22:34:00] <samsam> and I need to know if I’m thinking in the right direction:
[22:35:10] <samsam> You create a subclass from CMSMain, place an extend hook inside it to your custom method. Then you write your custom method which sits in an extension class (which extends CMSMain)?
 [22:50:30] * terryapodaca has joined #silverstripe
[22:54:24] <terryapodaca> is there a way to get a DO that is managed in the ModelAdmin, to have the grid pageable? I have 60 "Staff" members but the client wants that main grid to page after 20
[22:56:38] <Firesphere> Yes, should be possiblle, something like paginated gridfield with gridfieldextensions
[22:57:18] <Firesphere> samsam yes, you'll have to tell injector to use that class as the replacement, in your yml
[22:57:18] <samsam> pagination is built in by default in ss gridfield
[22:57:51] <Firesphere> Yeah, thought so too, just set the limit on the model I thought
[23:00:02] * ss-helper quit (Remote host closed the connection)
 [23:00:18] * ss-helper has joined #silverstripe
[23:02:46] <terryapodaca> I thought it was built in as well, but for some reason mine isn't doing it by default when managing the DO through the ModelAdmin
[23:03:15] <terryapodaca> advice on the syntax and where to put the code?
