 [00:37:35] * BrewNaked has joined #silverstripe
 [00:38:13] <BrewNaked> Let's try this again...
 [00:39:53] <BrewNaked> I don't suppose that anyone might be able to provide the reasoning for not having FieldSet tags providing their IDs within the UserForms module?
 [00:41:12] <BrewNaked> ...or whether it should be there, but was missed?
 [00:41:57] <Nightjar> I take it this is for styling?
 [00:42:48] <Nightjar> You cannot (_ever_) count on userforms being consistent for such purposes. The ID is irrelevant on non data capturing fields.
 [00:43:16] <Nightjar> if not, what is your use case BrewNaked?
 [00:44:39] <BrewNaked> It's actually for providing some secondary display javascript logic to supplement the Display Rules in my particular scenario.
 [00:45:17] * robbiea has joined #silverstripe
 [00:46:12] <robbiea> Afternoon all! I want to add an extension onAfterPublish for a SiteTree to do something when the "Show In Menus" setting is changed. I can retrieve the value of it from the SiteTree object passed into the extension hook, but how can I detect whether it was changed or left the same?
 [00:46:34] <Firesphere> $object->getChangedFields()
 [00:46:40] * robbiea dances
 [00:46:41] <Nightjar> robbiea: isChanged('field')
 [00:46:45] <robbiea> Thanks team
 [00:47:01] <Nightjar> or what Firesphere said, which will give you a full list which you'll have to seek through
 [00:47:49] <robbiea> appreciate it
 [00:52:08] <Nightjar> have fun kids
 [00:52:09] * Nightjar quit (Quit: leaving)
 [00:54:09] <robbiea> It's just me that it's returning an empty array in the onAfterPublish event, whether I use the argument from the hook or $this->owner?
 [00:55:25] <robbiea> it's not a onBeforeWrite() thing only?
 [00:55:40] * muskie9 quit (Quit: Textual IRC Client: www.textualapp.com)
 [00:55:49] <Firesphere> It's available on onBefore and onAfterWrite()
 [00:56:09] <Firesphere> It's very possible it's not available onAfterPublish(), because that's a different hook.
 [00:57:54] * spronk has joined #silverstripe
 [00:59:26] <robbiea> Cool. Thanks
 [01:00:28] <robbiea> Any idea if the same functionality could be achieved in publishing events/
 [01:01:53] <robbiea> The SiteTreeExtension provides an $original argument for both before and after, however because it's passed by reference as an object, the doAfterPublish event receives an updated version, not the original
 [01:01:57] <Firesphere> Right now, I wouldn't know, but I'm surprised it's empty actually, because it's in the same process
 [01:04:48] <robbiea> it's not empty, it's a sitetree link parser class or something
 [01:05:50] <robbiea> Array([parser] => Array([before] => [after] => SiteTreeLinkParser_Object ( ) [level] => 2)
 [01:12:13] <robbiea> Lunch time - feed the brain before I try again :) thanks for your help Firesphere

 [01:36:27] <LimRes> Hey SS Peeps. Looking for suggestions about best process in SS when allowing self-registration where I am directing them to /security/changepassword and for whatever reason they close the tab. Since no password is set, they can't set a new one via the lost password dialoge
 [01:36:44] <LimRes> Anyone dealt with that without hacking the security module?

 [01:46:11] <robbiea> I'm back, and I'm still on the hunt for a method to determine if a field has changed when it is published. $dataObject->getChangedFields() doesn't return anything useful in the onBeforePublish() or onAfterPublish(). Do I have to load the previous version of the DataObject just to compare the values??
 [01:47:48] * Tanger has joined #silverstripe
 [01:49:35] <robbiea> If I use the $original that is passed as an argument to the onAfterUpdate() extension hook, the field value is that of *after* it is changed, so it's actually not an original any more.
 [01:51:48] * Tanger quit (Remote host closed the connection)
 [01:53:54] <robbiea> Alternatively... maybe I could save the value of the field from the onBeforeUpdate() hook then compare it in the onAfterUpdate() hook, assuming it's the same instance of the extension class?
 [01:54:48] * micmania1 has joined #silverstripe
 [01:54:57] <robbiea> Which is is... I'll do that for now (annoying that I can't do this with getChangedFields())!!!!!

 [04:17:15] <Hailwood> Hey folks, SS doesn't have the concept of "has_one_through" or "has_many_through" does it?
 [04:18:39] <Hailwood> e.g. Region => Has_Many District => Has_Many Suburb currenctly on Suburb I have pubf Region = $this->District()->Region()
 [04:20:42] <Firesphere> You can't chain on a many-list.
 [04:20:56] <Firesphere> You can do something like $this->District()->First()->Region() though.

 [04:45:20] <terryapodaca> thanks micmania1!!

 [08:21:19] <swaiba> i know it isn't as requested, but it's a fairly good solution in general

 [09:25:00] <swaiba> it isn't up wmk, we have discussed befre which is what I was refernceing
 [09:25:18] <wmk> was $_GET in ->request->Param() before ???
 [09:25:28] <swaiba> configure BackURL? why just $_GET['BackURL'] = 'someurl'; innit?
 [09:26:38] <wmk> swaiba, https://github.com/BetterBrief/silverstripe-opauth/blob/1.1/code/OpauthLoginForm.php#L41
 [09:27:18] <swaiba> ah quite right using session... yes...
 [09:28:55] <wmk> wtf... in master it's using requestVar, in my local copy it uses $this->controller->request->param('BackURL')
 [09:29:10] <wmk> swaiba, you're a rubber duck today...?
 [09:29:25] * swaiba quack
 [09:30:18] <swaiba> I've no idea what meaning you applied to that, sorry if I'm not being helpful
 [09:30:35] <swaiba> that was why I originally tried to indicate I'm not of any use on this topic
 [09:30:55] <swaiba> and now I've been to urban dictionary and put "rubber duck" in, well, I laughed
 [09:32:12] <wmk> well, more like http://www.rubberduckdebugging.com/

 [09:33:14] <NETim> I'm not quite brave enough to look it up on UB.
 [09:33:19] <wmk> UB?
 [09:33:36] <swaiba> urban dictionary
 [09:33:37] <NETim> Actually, I think we may mean UD.
 [09:33:52] * swaiba cannot spell, but can quack
 [09:33:57] <NETim> also, the definition here:http://www.rubberduckdebugging.com/ is much more entertaining.
 [09:33:58] * swaiba quack
 [09:33:59] <wmk> the faq is great
 [09:34:25] <swaiba> and yeah it's common for me too, I take the time to expalin and discuss and then half way through I drop the conversation as Iv'e sorted it

 [12:46:54] <elgabbu> seems like i need to setup this option 'table_class_list' ..... https://www.tinymce.com/docs/plugins/table/
 [12:48:45] <elgabbu> so basically need to add configuration to the table plugin
 [12:53:02] <kinglozzer> elgabbu: HtmlEditorConfig::get('cms')->setOption('table_class_list', [['title' => 'Cat', 'value': 'cat'], ['title' => 'Dog', 'value': 'dog']]);
 [12:53:05] <kinglozzer> Or something like that
 [12:53:37] <kinglozzer> I'm guessing the exact format there... but you get the idea
 [12:53:41] <kinglozzer> In _config.php ^^
 [12:54:13] * kinglozzer lunch
 [12:56:33] <elgabbu> kinglozzer ... that was my initial approach ... HtmlEditorConfig::get('cms')->setOption('table_class_list', array( array('title' => 'Cat', 'value' => 'cat'), array('title' => 'Dog', 'value' => 'dog') ));

 [13:59:34] <ccburns> Hi guys - I no this will be a really simple answer but I’m going to ask anyway because I can’t get it right at the moment… I am creating a BetterButton action that should first save the record and then go on and update a bunch of other DataObjects… I’m adding this BetterButton action to the my Question dataObject… What would be the syntax to save the data first? I’ve tried $this->write() but that doesn’t work… It
 [13:59:35] <ccburns> doesn’t throw an error just doesn’t update the record… thoughts?
 [14:03:04] <muskie9> ccburns is this something you could do in an onAfterWrite on your data object you're saving?
 [14:03:38] <ccburns> From what I understand from the specs it’s not something that they want to be able to do everytime
 [14:05:27] <muskie9> $this->write() _should_ work, but I do recall trying unsuccessfully to add a custom action button a while back
 [14:08:44] <wmk> anyone can help me debugging a prepared statement with umlauts? it breaks at the umlaut.
 [14:09:05] <ccburns> muskie9 I’ve got the button displaying and the action triggers - it’s just the saving of the record first :)
 [14:09:06] <wmk> so either i didn't pass the right value to ->update() or something else...

 [15:47:39] <r3v3rb> easy question - which template does ‘log in as someone else’ use? My custom login templates work for every scenario apart from that one :(
 [15:50:02] <kinglozzer> r3v3rb: :'( rip
 [15:50:09] <kinglozzer> Chuffed for Leicester though
 [15:50:29] <r3v3rb> looks like we are swapping roles - Brighton (almost up) - Norwich…
 [15:51:03] <kinglozzer> Yeah, never thought I'd live to see a Hughton team get promoted :P
 [15:51:35] <kinglozzer> Tbf he wasn't bad for us... just that a lot of Norwich fans have zero patience
 [15:51:57] <r3v3rb> as a lifelong chelsea fan it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to watch them ‘this’ close to home!
 [15:52:39] <kinglozzer> Anyway afaik it just uses Security.ss and {$Content}
 [15:52:39] <r3v3rb> Drive to the AMEX stadium is about 35 minutes from my house!
 [15:52:55] <kinglozzer> Haha nice!
 [15:53:05] <r3v3rb> really?!?! Okay I better check why it’s not getting picked up
 [15:53:40] <r3v3rb> kinglozzer: even better is blue car in car park won’t get accidently trashed as a chelsea fans car by the yobbish ‘gulls’ fans!
 [15:59:28] <r3v3rb> arh, it appears the code required for that is still coming from the original Security/Admin class not my extensions
 [16:00:05] <kinglozzer> r3v3rb: Just remember to take the Chelsea stickers out of the window ;)

 [16:07:31] <jcwacky> Just the person I was after :P
 [16:07:50] <jcwacky> Should Google Sitemaps just work with Subsites?
 [16:08:00] <r3v3rb> Holy carp! I’m just reviewing my new system I have been builiding and I have already 90% commented my coe and also provided _t and %t throughout too! I must be getting better!
 [16:08:08] <r3v3rb> code*
 [16:08:50] <jcwacky> Because the sitemaps on the subsites appear to be empty: https://www.lettings.connellmcfadden.com/sitemap.xml/sitemap/SiteTree/1
 [16:10:29] <wmk> jcwacky, yes, it should... but it could be that you need somehow to diable subsitefilter on sitemaps
 [16:10:37] <wmk> isn't there a notice in the docs?
 [16:10:48] <jcwacky> Ah, I thought I looked.
 [16:15:41] <jcwacky> Can’t see anything relating to sitemaps in the Subsite docs.
 [16:25:14] <jcwacky> Ah, think I’ve cracked it.
 [16:26:32] <jcwacky> Yep, there we go. I just hadn’t added the “www” domain to each subsite.
 [16:28:18] <kinglozzer> r3v3rb: I'm so bad at that
 [16:28:32] <kinglozzer> I always add @param and @return, but never anything else :P
 [16:29:16] <r3v3rb> kinglozzer: I thought I better - I want to go out and start selling this ‘product’ soon and ideally if it takes off employ someone to continue development with me
 [16:29:38] <kinglozzer> Planning ahead, good work!
 [16:30:08] <r3v3rb> ;) best thing I’ve done in a long time
 [16:30:10] <wmk> jcwacky, works now?
 [16:30:19] <jcwacky> Yep! :)
 [16:30:27] <r3v3rb> three weeks from no code to fully working beta site kinglozzer
 [16:30:31] <wmk> normally you don't have to add www to the subsite domains
 [16:31:20] <wmk> jcwacky, i normally call my sitemaps like Domain/sitemap.xml, so directly on a subsite it works
 [16:32:03] <wmk> but i have a tld, no subdomain here
 [16:32:13] <wmk> with subdomain you maybe have to add www...
 [16:32:18] <jcwacky> Yep, that’s what I was doing, but the Subsite domain was set as subsite1.example.com and I was using the URL www.subsite1.example.com/subsite.xml which wouldn’t work.
 [16:32:32] <jcwacky> It was still opening the sitemap, just with no pages listed.
 [16:32:39] <wmk> hmm...
 [16:32:45] <wmk> at least you solved it

 [19:09:50] <wmk> well, how can you filter for "related" pages?
 [19:10:46] <wmk> Page::get()->filter(['ParentID' => $this->ParentID])->excude(['ID' => $this->ID'])
 [19:10:48] <neomang> I'm not sure, I assume since you can check if a related page of a pagetype exists, you could get the information of that page
 [19:10:51] <wmk> gives you all neighbour pages
 [19:11:04] <neomang> ah, that's what I wanted before, thanks
