[09:54:48] <ss32noob> hi everyone. has someone encountered an issue in silverstripe assets wherein you upload an image.. and instead of putting it in assets/Uploads.. it created different assets/Uploads-1.. assets/Uploads-2 etc.. folder in every image you upload?
 [09:56:48] <ss23> harry1: I think it might be $foo.Debug
 [09:56:53] <ss23> ss32noob: Never had it sorry
[09:57:04] <ss23> Sounds like an issue with renaming/duplicate detection though
[09:58:01] <ss32noob> its just so weird that it happens in one site.. i am using a messege queue in sending images from one site to couple of sites.. and its just in one site that this happens
 [09:58:50] <harry1> ss32: i got it now thanks :)
 [09:59:05] <ss23> :)

[11:21:21] <cmsgeek> I want to use translatable module and want my page url like: I want it to add a language prefix to the URL domain.com/subpage (default lang) domain.com/nl/subpage (foreign lang)
 [11:22:34] <cmsgeek> how can i do this
 [11:23:53] * m-re has joined #silverstripe

 [11:30:03] <cmsgeek> help plz
[11:31:27] <kinglozzer> cmsgeek: I have no experience with translatable, but I know that you can achieve that with "fluent": https://github.com/tractorcow/silverstripe-fluent
 [11:31:51] * Mike123_ quit (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
[11:47:27] <cloph> cmsgeek: yeah, I'd use a different module for that as well - translatable module is meant to be on same level - if you'd be ok with nl-subpage, then no problem at all, but using different level would require more modifications
 [11:50:55] <cmsgeek> can i do same with silverstripe-fluent module
[12:00:40] <wmk> cmsgeek, there is some languageprefix module for translatable
 [12:01:04] <wmk> https://github.com/Martimiz/silverstripe-languageprefix
[12:01:18] <wmk> fluent is also nice
[12:01:23] <wmk> depends on what you want or need
[12:01:35] <wmk> with fluent you have the same tree and sort order in all languages
[12:01:49] <wmk> if you want to be more flexible you have to choose translatable

[15:32:20] <cloph> finding one that accepts EC cards is hard..

 [15:41:12] <r3v3rb> hi
[15:42:15] <r3v3rb> trying to work out the formula to return the object that has the least many_many’s attached to it in a controller anyone know how I can do that?
 [15:43:35] <Mike123> cloph, thank you
[15:44:07] <r3v3rb> so I have obj_A that has many_many obj_B’s I need the obj_A returned where obj_B is the least amount of many_many’s $obj_A::get()->filter(???)->??? for example if it’s even ossible with the ORM
 [15:52:33] <r3v3rb> actually I lied its not a many_many! doh its a has_one > has_many I need the $has_one returned that has the least $has_many’s…
[15:53:10] <r3v3rb> easiest to loop them shove them in an array and then sort the array based on the count of the has_many?
 [15:56:14] <r3v3rb> or will something like this work: $clients->sort($clients->donations()->count.'ASC');

[16:03:01] <kinglozzer> r3v3rb: Hmm, I don't think it's possible entirely in the ORM like that... you might need to either loop over them or something, or use SQLQuery to build a query manually that does it
[16:03:41] <r3v3rb> yeh, i’m looping and creating a seperate array with the count store against the object to do the sorting
[16:04:05] <r3v3rb> quicker in the short term than faffing with custom SQL queries

 [19:29:34] <brazier> hi all
[19:36:52] <brazier> i was hoping someone could throw some help my way. i got a project dumped on me for a volunteer organization. and i never worked with this before. The version is rly old and needs to be upgraded
 [19:41:28] * m-re has joined #silverstripe
[19:43:27] <helenclarko> brazier: By really old... what are you talking? Like SS 2.4?
 [19:44:34] <brazier> silverstripe_version says 2.4.5
[19:45:06] <brazier> the biggest problem seems to bee that its not compatible with php 5.5
[19:45:23] <brazier> the host upgraded php and the page stopped
[19:45:26] <helenclarko> brazier: Yup, you were right, really old.
 [19:45:53] <brazier> when was 2.4 out?
 [19:46:54] <helenclarko> Original 2.4.0 was like 2010, I think???
 [19:47:05] <helenclarko> So 6 years ago.
[19:47:09] <brazier> wow, ppl need to update their shit :P
[19:48:08] <brazier> well, are the present version and 2.4 "upgrade compatible" or do i need to tell them to start from scratch
 [19:49:46] <muskie9> brazier, check if changing line 200 in sapphire/core/ConfigManifest.php to have brackets around the continue fixes it in the short term {continue;}
[19:50:35] <muskie9> we're working through some 2.4 upgrades and that seems to be the culprit a lot of the time... today I was able to get a 2.4.5 installation with subsites working on php 5.6
[19:52:04] <brazier> ill give that a try in a sec, just moving the 12k files to a test server
 [19:52:42] * muskie9__ has joined #silverstripe
[19:52:52] <helenclarko> brazier: They are not really upgrade compatible. I remember updating one of my sites from 2.4 to 3.1. required a huge amount of <% control %> to <% loop %> rewrites. Just code changes really. However, that was back before addons had been updated to work with 3.1
 [19:53:40] * gelignite has joined #silverstripe
[19:54:41] <brazier> ill try the quick fix today, and then i understand i need to read up on some things
 [19:55:06] * muskie9 quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
[19:55:08] <brazier> but it needs to be upgraded, if not they are going to leave it like this for 6 more years
[20:00:57] <muskie9__> that's how we're handling it most of the time, fixing it for now and giving the clients a hard date on when the site will go dark if they don't choose to pay for an upgrade...
[20:02:46] <brazier> haha, well they are not paying me, at least not in cash, maybe i can get some beers
[20:03:28] <helenclarko> brazier: This link may help. https://www.silverstripe.org/blog/converting-quinn.com-from-silverstripe-2.4-to-3.1-beta/
[20:03:49] <helenclarko> brazier: Could be a lot of work for a few beers haha.
 [20:05:09] <muskie9__> meeting time
 [20:05:11] * muskie9__ quit (Quit: Textual IRC Client: www.textualapp.com)
[20:05:24] <brazier> im a good kinda guy, its a volunteer originization i used to be with.
[20:05:36] <brazier> ill look into that link later, ty
[20:05:48] <brazier> man transfering 12k files takes time
[20:07:22] <helenclarko> brazier: well let us know if you get stuck upgrading. its been awhile since I needed to do anything like that, but hopefully I can help you with coding changes.
[20:08:59] <brazier> i appreciate that, to late for anything like that today. and i feel like i should do some reading first. make it easier on my self.

[20:19:39] <CrashyBang> Hey guys having a few issues with the base tag and relative URL's, if I remove the base tag all my problems are fixed but I was rteading on stack overflow that the base tag can be pretty important for some templating languages does SS require the base tag?

[20:29:20] <zippy> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxSktOgpqXM - I thought the umps were going to say it's too long / big screen involvement... I am a bit suprised TBH.
[20:29:45] <zippy> We did appeal, but play just carried on. If there wasn't a big screen......
[20:30:06] <zippy> Not sure if anything off camera happened in between, like bmac saying anything before it was shown... but... mmm

[20:45:23] <Stomach> yeah that was a bit weird
[20:45:30] <Stomach> i mean in the end he was actually out
[20:45:54] <Stomach> I think the third umpire should be able to tell umpires "check that out" and then go to technology at any time
[20:47:06] <zippy> wonder how the crowd would of been like if the umpire said they weren't going to look at it
[20:47:36] <zippy> I think it also would of been pretty cool for a mass pitch invasion at the end of the game also, like in the olden days..
[20:47:44] <zippy> games over, crowd just used to whore onto the park

[22:34:47] <helenclarko> I mean you can challenge all the way up to the point Matt Henry reaches his run-up mark. IIRC
 [22:34:58] <zippy> 15 seconds I think
[22:35:11] <zippy> but it's more... did the big screen influence the decision? if
 [22:36:08] <zippy> ah well :-)
