[02:42:46] <helenclarko> Was just about to say "rewrites?"
[02:43:17] <helenclarko> haven't tried yet, but it should be possible right?
[02:43:18] <ss-helper> Re: CMS styles, front-end frameworks and guiding CSS principles - https://groups.google.com/d/msg/silverstripe-dev/zY-yzVMA0ds/mQrko6h1AwAJ
[02:44:25] <helenclarko> just trying to think how I could automate it kinda... So that I dont have to manually add rewrites for each subsite.
[02:44:58] <helenclarko> This is for a future project BTW, just trying to get an idea of how complex it will be.
 [02:45:41] <zippy> well
[02:46:06] <zippy> check host and match anything.domain.com and "rewreite" to domain.com/%1
[02:47:31] <helenclarko> zippy: thats probably it, Just not sure if I need every subdomain changed. I'll need to have a think about it.
 [02:48:09] <zippy> RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(.*?)\.domain\.com$
 [02:48:09] <zippy> RewriteRule .* /$1/%1 [QSA]

[03:15:19] <nontgor> Infesting core SS modules with badges, one at a time https://github.com/silverstripe/silverstripe-comments/
[03:15:44] <nontgor> improved the code coverage from 54% to 92% in the tests :) The last 8% looks tricky though
 [03:16:07] <ss23> jeeeeeez
[03:16:09] <ss23> that is a lot of badges
[03:16:18] <ss23> i feel like my internet just struggled to load that many pngs
[03:16:47] <helenclarko> So does that mean its good?
[03:18:58] <nontgor> helenclarko: Provided the viewer is not color blind green means good. HIgher code coverage %age means more tests, and thus less likelihood of breakage when making future changes
[03:19:31] <helenclarko> is it a Travis test thing?
[03:19:37] <nontgor> helenclarko: e.g. when a pull request is made to a repository you own, the tests are automatically run, so you know not to process the pull request if tests fail
[03:19:46] <helenclarko> I dunno much about those test things
[03:20:06] <nontgor> helenclarko: Yes, continuous integration.
 [03:20:11] <helenclarko> Ah, gotcha.
[03:21:06] <nontgor> Busy publishing some old formerly private modules of mine, have written some Ruby scripts to speed up the process (add Scrutinizer code quality check config, editor config, working Travis file, badges and empty tests for all methods)
[03:22:24] <helenclarko> Hey zippy, thanks for your help. I'll need to have a think about how I'll use it. Not sure if a blanket rewrite over all subdomains is exactly how I want to go yet.
[03:23:09] <helenclarko> I dont see why not though...

 [03:25:03] <bjbk> Hi all
[03:25:34] <bjbk> Wondering if anyone has run into something similar as me - I'm trying to enable FulltextSearchable, and on dev/build are seeing this error:
[03:25:37] <bjbk> Couldn't run query: ALTER TABLE "File" ADD fulltext "SearchFields" ("Title","Filename","Content") HY000-1214: The used table type doesn't support FULLTEXT indexes
[03:26:05] <nontgor> helenclarko: One useful facet of Travis is that you can test against multiple versions of PHP, multiple databases, multiple versions of SilverStripe in various combos. It's very useful for catching outlying beakage, I've found some of my modules do not work with Postgres for example
[03:29:31] <nontgor> helenclarko: Another useful side benefit of Travis is being able to produce code coverage reports, have a look at this one which is core SilverStripe, DataObject https://codecov.io/github/gordonbanderson/silverstripe-framework/model/DataObject.php?ref=bae90bd2db963c7c28769cb9bd5e0b788f0c3287 - the red lines are those not covered by the unit tests
[03:29:55] <nontgor> maybe it's more a pink background, but should be obvious
[03:31:51] <micmania1> bjbk: Have oyou added FulltextSearchable::enable() to your _config.php?

[04:39:23] <bjbk> I can't seem to get a dev/build to change from InnoDB to MyISAM
[04:50:15] <nontgor> bjbk: odd? Are you adding flush=all also?
[04:50:37] <nontgor> bjbk: Another option, which I often use when testing, is to simply delete the manifest cache (rm -rf silverstripe-cache/*)
[04:50:48] * UncleCheese quit (Quit: My MacBook Pro has gone to sleep. ZZZzzz…)
[04:51:59] <bjbk> nontgor - I do have flush on there too

[05:00:20] <bjbk> nontgor - just tried clearing the cache as well - no joy unfortunately, dev/build still halts on the error
 [05:00:37] <nontgor> sspaste.com the error?
 [05:03:32] <bjbk> nontgor: http://sspaste.com/paste/show/569f151231d28
[05:05:09] <nontgor> bjbk: mmm, not sure, not seen that one
 [05:05:35] <bjbk> yeah it's weird!
[05:06:08] <spronk> omfg hurry up composer
[05:07:34] <nontgor> spronk: Turn off xdebug? using lots of VCS repos as opposed to github?
 [05:07:51] <spronk> dw, i just hadn't updated in a whiel
 [05:07:56] <spronk> :'(
[05:08:33] <nontgor> spronk: I had a heap of repos I kept remotely and it was just way too slow, likes of 10 mins to add a package. Eventually rsynced a mirror locally, problem solved
[05:19:01] <bjbk> nontgor - I just manually altered the table engines in phpmyadmin and got it working that way. MAMP was throwing some weird errors when I altered the engine type - so I'm assuming that those errors are preventing SS from doing it's thing. Not sure
[05:21:13] <nontgor> bjbk: See https://docs.silverstripe.org/en/3.2/developer_guides/search/fulltextsearch/ - there is an explicit switch to ISAM there
[05:21:34] * nontgor does not remembe seeing that before
[05:26:19] <nontgor> bjbk: Module I wrote ages ago but does work with 3.1 https://github.com/gordonbanderson/weboftalent-search/tree/3.1-zurb-foundation - add a search page at e.g. /search and it shold handle the rest
[05:28:24] <nontgor> bjbk: I've never really liked SS search so I decided to hook it in with Elasticsearch, see http://elastica.weboftalent.asia/search-examples/flickr-text-results/ for a demo (username/password for basic auth is search/search)
[05:29:34] <nontgor> bjbk: Autocomplete when typing, highlights, field weightings, find similar. And documented :)
[05:34:16] <bjbk> nontgor - yeah I tried the explicit setting through 'create_table_options' too
 [05:34:27] <nontgor> bjbk: I'm out of ideas then :(
 [05:35:10] * Stomach has joined #silverstripe
[05:35:22] <bjbk> it's ok - I manually set the engine types and I think the rest will work - hopefully it's just a localdev issue
[05:35:45] <bjbk> nontgor - thanks for your help
 [05:36:06] <nontgor> :)
[05:36:22] * nontgor goes back to publishing/fixing heaps of modules

[08:39:36] * spronk quit (Quit: I may need a longer sleep timer...)
[08:42:14] <rista> I do it with redirection in init method, but I need link with hashtag (since I want to open specific tab on blog page), and if I put hashtag, redirection never occure (without hashtag it works fine)
 [08:55:26] <swaiba> morning all
[08:55:37] <swaiba> cupcake - what are you actaully trying to achieve?
[08:55:58] <swaiba> mobiusnz - put it in a module that is included after the framework / cms
[08:57:01] <swaiba> rista - I'm not sure as this sounds so simple, get the URL of the blog post (BlogPost::get()->filter(...)->first()->Link() or something)
[08:57:05] <mobiusnz> swaiba: yeah, found it worked if I put it in mysite... was previsouly trying to have it in themes
[08:58:18] <swaiba> Anyone got a small snippet to make a form auto-submit on change of a dropdown?
 [08:58:30] <swaiba> please :)

[09:00:50] <mobiusnz> swaiba: hmmm, doing that appears to break the cms though... any way to have it as a themed change only?
[09:02:44] <mobiusnz> huh, oddly enough moving the forms folder into the theme dir seemed to work this time. must be picky about naming
[09:08:04] <mobiusnz> ugh... for everything except OptionsetField.ss. Why can't I override that one in my themedir? :/
 [09:08:53] <mobiusnz> also swaiba: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7231157/how-to-submit-form-on-change-of-dropdown-list
[09:09:58] <rista> swaiba - Thanx, I'm already doing this, but I thought there is some other way.
[09:10:24] <swaiba> mobiusnz - to be included for silverstirpe generically, I've done this for non-ss forms tons of times
 [09:11:47] <mobiusnz> swaiba: $field->setAttribute("onchange", "this.form.submit()")

[15:08:48] <Firesphere> Mike123: It's a default datepicker, so you could easily integrate some javascript, to set the startdate of the second datepicker to be equal or greater than the first.

[15:21:58] <m_4_k_x> Mike123: if you dont need it "live" you can use the validate() function to check the data before its recorded

[15:25:08] <m_4_k_x> would be easier than adding JS
[15:25:29] <Firesphere> That's another option indeed. I assumed "live" validation.

[15:31:48] <cupcake_> to unpublish some pages
[15:31:56] <cupcake_> but it wont work unless ure logged in admin
[15:35:09] <Firesphere> Ehm, a task should always be executed, since if it's run from commandline (sake wrapper or cli-script), it assumes it can be doen.
[15:35:20] <Firesphere> Otherwise, you need to be admin, to get access to /dev/tasks anyway
[15:35:43] <Firesphere> Or, override the securitycheck in the base task.
[15:36:01] <muskie9> cupcake_ you could throw your code in a controller, but tasks should be run with some security so it can't be run by anyone at any account level
 [15:38:47] <cupcake_> i will convert to buildtask
 [15:38:52] <cupcake_> and run it from dev/tasks
