 [00:08:38] <hailwood> micmania1, It's dying when I'm doing dev/build?flush=all
[00:09:44] <DanaeNZ> hailwood: do you have an After header block on the yml ?
 [00:10:57] <hailwood> DanaeNZ, just the standard framework/* & cms/* blocks
[00:11:13] <hailwood> I do have memberprofiles installed, so believe that could be the culprit?
[00:11:34] <DanaeNZ> hailwood: ooh might need to add another "after" so it's loaded after the memberprofiles
 [00:13:25] * micmania1 quit (Quit: micmania1)
[00:13:48] <hailwood> DanaeNZ, I've now got this: https://gist.github.com/hailwood/e8356c425554dae88b13 but same issue
[00:15:37] <DanaeNZ> just append the after 'memberprofiles' to the top header block
[00:15:47] <DanaeNZ> you still want the extension to come after framework and cms
[00:17:41] <hailwood> *sigh* found the issue, one of our extensions to the blog had populateDefaults - if ($member = Member::currentUser()) { ... } which was calling member. How would you avoid that but still have that functionality?

 [00:44:47] <zippy> helenclarko: no I haven't sorry

[03:20:17] <hailwood> Hey folks, has anyone used memberprofiles and found that when filling out the form, even if you're not changing the password you get an error telling you password is required?
[03:21:56] <muskie9> hailwood check the code if the password field has ->setCanBeEmpty(true) set
[03:24:01] <hailwood> sorry muskie9 please can you elaborate a bit more
 [03:27:55] <hailwood> Ah got it
[03:27:57] <muskie9> after I posted that I realized it's probably different, but I think you can set if fields are required in the cms... otherwise there's updateMemberFormFields() that you cam apply to Member via a DataExtension to build your field list... in that case you could use what I mentioned above with ConfirmedPasswordField
 [03:28:54] <hailwood> I was logged in through the Security::setDefaultAdmin() user - hence no password, memberprofiles has this block: if($member && $member->ID && $member->Password) { $this->removeRequiredField('Password'); } so the removeRequiredField was never called
[03:29:20] <muskie9> ah, that makes sens

 [07:35:19] <wmk> Eliseth, ☺/
[07:37:33] <wmk> anyone knows a module or class that can sync some fields in translatable?
 [07:37:43] <Eliseth> wmk \o/
[07:39:11] <Eliseth> Time to give this fluent a try... wish me luck :D
 [07:39:23] <wmk> Eliseth, 3.1. or 3.2?
 [07:39:29] <Eliseth> 3.1
 [07:39:33] <wmk> should work
[07:39:41] <wmk> on 3.2. fluent still has some flaws
[07:39:51] <wmk> but it's a different concept. not bad, but different
[07:40:08] <Eliseth> How do you mean different?
[07:40:27] <wmk> well, translatable: one DO per translation, fields hard to sync (any module around??)
[07:40:47] <wmk> fluent: define fields to be translated, each field has one row in the same column (DO)
[07:41:00] <wmk> and will automatically fallback to "default"
[07:41:00] * Motoservo quit (Quit: Shhh. I'm trying to get some sleep here.)
 [07:41:22] * CodeTrap has joined #silverstripe
[07:41:22] <wmk> not easy to reset a field or make an "empty" translation (that field is only set in one translation)
 [07:42:04] <Eliseth> Hmmh
[07:42:37] <Eliseth> Well, if it doesn't work for me it's back to translatable and bummzack translatable-dataobject then
[07:42:48] <wmk> fluent is nice if you have the same site tree in all languages
 [07:43:26] * zippy has joined #silverstripe
[07:43:31] <zippy> is it possible to see if an ID exists in a relation?
[07:43:44] <Eliseth> Hm, so different sitetrees isn't an option?
 [07:43:46] <wmk> zippy, what relation? has_many or many_many??
[07:43:50] <wmk> Eliseth, with fluent, no
 [07:43:53] <zippy> many_many
[07:44:16] <wmk> something like $this->MyRelation()->getIDList() gets all IDs
 [07:44:26] <wmk> so in_array($id, $idList) ...? zippy
 [07:44:27] <zippy> room many_many student. is this $student in this $room?
 [07:45:10] <wmk> zippy, or $this->Students()->filter('ID', $student->ID)->count()
 [07:45:17] <zippy> mmm true
[07:45:28] <wmk> manymany is just a DataList you can filter / manipulate
 [07:46:16] <zippy> god damn fireworks
[07:46:20] <wmk> Eliseth, how do you sync fields over translations with Translatable ?
[07:46:37] <Eliseth> What do you mean?
 [07:46:58] <wmk> e.g. you have a simple EventPage
 [07:47:02] <wmk> with a StartDate and EndDate
[07:47:13] <wmk> you don't want to type in the date in all translations
[07:47:20] <wmk> just in your "master" translation
 [07:47:25] <wmk> locale
[07:47:40] <wmk> and update the (existing) translations when you change it
[07:47:58] <Eliseth> Welcome to the EXACT reason I'm trying out fluent...
 [07:48:05] <wmk> Eliseth, lol
[07:48:14] <wmk> well, for my main project i discovered fluent won't fit
[07:48:26] <Eliseth> I have this HUGE DO with 90% shared fields across translations
[07:48:35] <wmk> so i guess i have to rewrite the hacky solution i have now
[07:48:49] <wmk> Eliseth, HUGE DO sounds bad for fluent
[07:48:55] <wmk> as everything is saved in ONE row
[07:49:18] <wmk> so problems if maaaany translations
[07:49:23] <Eliseth> I have like 40 fields, of which 3 will become translatable
 [07:49:31] <wmk> ok
[07:49:43] <wmk> 40 fields and 30 translatable would be bad
[07:50:02] <Eliseth> Yeah, that makes sense
 [07:50:14] <wmk> Eliseth, see https://github.com/tractorcow/silverstripe-fluent/issues/145
[07:50:45] <wmk> it always depends on your DO and requirements
[07:54:27] <Tanger> I'm about to go mad. I was using the RSS feed on silverstripe-blog and it threw this at me "http://sspaste.com/paste/show/5639b99f65230"
[07:55:00] <Tanger> The system IS passing in a DataList, which DOES implement SS_List, but it just gives me a recoverableError

 [08:10:43] * DanaeNZ has joined #silverstripe
[08:10:45] <Mike123> why there no ability to delete pages in SS 3.2 ? only Archive it ...
 [08:13:50] <wmk> Mike123, see changelog
[08:13:55] <wmk> was renamed to "archive"
[08:14:17] <Mike123> wmk, but it doesnt delete the page from sitetree
[08:15:01] <Mike123> oh sorry... needed to refresh :)
[08:15:06] * DanaeNZ quit (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
[08:15:20] <wmk> Mike123, i see it "archived" and stroke through
[08:16:02] <zippy> when you refresh / flush it will eventually go away
 [08:16:06] <zippy> (not show)
[08:16:07] <Mike123> wmk, yes :) and try to refresh the page :) it will disappear
 [08:16:13] <Mike123> yep :)
[08:16:23] <wmk> zippy, yup, when refreshed it's not shown anymore (unless you tell ss to show also archived pages)
[08:16:52] <wmk> which reminds me to look up transifex and see if cms needs further translations
[08:18:13] <wmk> argh, "pages" and (guitar) "string" are pretty much the same words in German
[08:18:30] <wmk> have to be concentrated...

[08:24:03] <Tanger> wmk: I am using it. The RSS feed works fine if I suppress the error with '@' (Which is shitty, I know).
 [08:24:34] <wmk> weird
 [08:24:34] <Tanger> wmk: I'm thinking it's probabvly just silverstripe-blog not playing perfectly with 3.2
[08:24:54] <wmk> could be, but isn't there a 3.2 compatible version of blog?

 [09:00:59] <wmk> Otterpocket, behat testing?
 [09:02:21] <Otterpocket> just functional
[09:02:30] <wmk> http://stackoverflow.com/q/33453915/4137738 Any chance to route to an action directly?
[09:02:55] <wmk> Otterpocket, behat is functional testing afaik. It grabs the page and checks if the action performs like you want it

[09:07:10] <kinglozzer> Otterpocket: Your test class should extend FunctionalTest instead of SapphireTest, you can then use $this->get($url) to make a request
[09:07:31] <kinglozzer> I think some of the cms tests do that so you could use those as examples
[09:09:46] <Otterpocket> kinglozzer, excellent , exactly what I was after

[09:14:35] <Eliseth> Now I have this DO with 3 translatable fields through fluent. Now instead of having to switch to another language in admin I'd like to show the fields of all languages so the client has a more user friendly way of maintaining them. Any idea how to do this?

[11:21:27] <kinglozzer> SH__: IIRC you have to request access
 [11:22:57] <SH__> Cool ill have a look
[11:28:52] <SH__> I've submitted a translation for the Danish language, any ideas on when this would be approved/implemented?
[11:30:05] <kinglozzer> SH__: translations are typically updated before each release, so I'd assume it'll be in the next release
 [11:31:31] <kbtjuh> thanks kinglozzer, works :)
[11:39:29] <SH__> Oh i see.. is there any way to use them right away? By downloading or something?
[12:10:27] <kinglozzer> SH__: Well you can add your own language files to mysite/lang/da.yml for example
[12:16:18] <SH__> Indeed, but I thought mysite/lang/da.yml only affected template stuff?

[20:33:55] <jadajada> wmk: I just post a topic myself on serverfault. Didn’t find anything on stackoverflow and it should be on serverfault anyway nowadays. It’s something with NGINX, since SS is working fine with Apache. I did find a remark saying it should be whitelisted (tiny_mce_gzip.php) but that’s already the case. No real other solutions found unfortunately.
[20:34:18] <wmk> i disabled tinymce gzip on nginx
 [20:34:52] <wmk> HtmlEditorField:
 [20:34:52] <wmk> use_gzip: false

 [20:36:12] <wmk> jadajada, this is what i found: http://serverfault.com/questions/455049/nginx-wont-execute-php-page-that-returns-javascript
[20:36:13] <jadajada> I don’t understand. The browser should deflate the gzip files, that has nothing to do with gzip, in my logic? But that turned out to be the solution for you?
 [20:36:19] <ss-helper> Re: [silverstripe-dev] Re: SilverStripe CMS iOS/Android App - https://groups.google.com/d/msg/silverstripe-dev/QvW9-VHaxzI/BMzGefG2AgAJ

 [20:40:50] <wmk> jadajada, you're welcome.
[20:41:01] <wmk> though serving that gzip php would be great on nginx

[20:49:51] <jadajada> wmk: yes, the rest of the content is more important. What I don’t understand is what nginx has got to do with it - or any webserver in general. It’s a file being served and the browser needs to deflate it, no matter how it’s being served. So why it fails. Well, it’s been a long day for me. Thanks once again and till later :-)

[22:06:41] <UncleCheese> with Hulu, Netflix, HBO, and Showtime, you're looking at like $30-$40/month
[22:07:08] <UncleCheese> i easily deal with $30-$40 worth of hassle by torrenting
[22:07:11] <antmas> like if I wanted to watch all the tv shows I like, I need to pay like $40+ per month

 [22:07:19] <antmas> movies are 3x that

[23:55:45] <saysora> So, am I right in assuming PaginatedList won't work on a object generated page?
[23:56:40] <saysora> Every Time I try and use $this->request() on the DataObject, it just essentially says no.
[23:56:55] <DanaeNZ> saysora: yeah i don't think that will work
 [23:57:01] <saysora> Curses.
[23:57:08] <DanaeNZ> it works on Pages because a Page has an attached Controller
[23:57:14] <DanaeNZ> which in turn has a request
[23:57:20] <saysora> Yeah, that's what it looks like.
[23:57:28] <saysora> But the object is already riding on that request to generate the page.
[23:57:34] <DanaeNZ> You can probably copy the functionality though, into customised code
[23:57:46] <saysora> Yeah, I'm gonna have to look into that.
[23:57:55] <saysora> My generated page needs to list files associated.
[23:58:05] <saysora> So, if someone has like 25 files, I want to be able to paginate them.
 [23:58:07] <saysora> Cheers.
