[01:38:45] <Alexwijn> Does anyone know how to sort a gridfield
[01:38:51] <Alexwijn> Without that you created it yourself
 [01:39:07] <Alexwijn> So I'm getting the gridfield using: $gridField = $fields->dataFieldByName('Layers');
[02:21:44] <howardgrigg> anyone have recommendations for amount of memory in a vps for a SS site? Small site 3-5000 pageviews a month

[09:26:09] <Nimle> Hi guys, does silverstripe license allow changing loading logo and a logo on left-and-main logo?
 [09:26:23] <ss23> Yes, Nimle :D
 [09:26:34] <Nimle> hmm
[09:26:35] <ss23> Nimle: Just keep the sourcecode messages etc the same :)
[09:26:42] <ss23> Nimle: You can change it easily with CSS (that's how it's set) iirc
 [09:26:52] <Nimle> i know how to change
[09:26:57] <Nimle> just wanted to check
[09:27:00] <Nimle> if it is legal
 [09:27:02] <ss23> cool :)
[09:28:09] <Nimle> I am still worried. is there any official document which says the logo can be changed?
[09:28:30] <ss23> ... no? Why would there be?
[09:29:09] <Nimle> because it may cause a trouble to the company. they ask me to change but their leave the responsiobility on me, saying check it first.
[09:29:11] <ss23> Nimle: https://github.com/silverstripe/silverstripe-framework has an explicit license section
[09:29:29] <ss23> Nimle: If it makes you happier, I work for SilverStripe the company :P
 [09:29:30] * ss23 has left #silverstripe

 [09:29:36] <ss23> LOOK I HAVE A FANCY +o HAT! :D
[09:29:59] <ss23> Nimle: The 2.4 version had a speicifc method for changing branding
 [09:30:38] <Nimle> I have written a small module for 3.0
[09:31:15] <Nimle> which changes both logos, adds a menu item as last one under help about company etc.
[09:31:45] <Nimle> thank you very much
[09:31:55] <ss23> Yes, that is all fine. You are allowed to modify the software etc etc. You cannot use the SilverStripe brand or name for random things that it shouldn't use though, and you have to keep the lisence file with the source
[09:32:00] <ss23> Apart from that, anything should be fine :)
 [09:34:53] <Nimle> cool

[11:26:41] <Nimle> Hi guys, just wondering whether it is ok to load config file details dynamically from database? I want to make some things configurable by cms user
[11:30:36] <ss23> What kind of things? In general, if you can do it, it's okay, but there are some intracusies (spelling is hard) with the Config system that might make it hard
[11:33:03] <Nimle> for example, i want to call LeftAndMain:: static methods to see different things for admin panel and load custom styles. they only work if called in config file.
[11:34:11] <Nimle> if call inside module code file, it is not called on admin init
[11:34:29] <Nimle> so, my stuff needs to be loaded with config
[11:38:41] <Nimle> ah, I found a way. it looks like when i add my ext with Object::add_extension, i can do my dynamic code there
 [11:38:45] <Nimle> it loads ok

[16:18:42] <SphereSilverNL> (Yes, I know, it's not telling which YML or which line in the YML. Which is exactly my problem)
